Dad Vs Daughter Challenge!

Alan and Jenny in their Loughborough Sportswear.

To officially launch The Katherine Jacobs Trust a challenge has been set by Alan (the co-founder of the charity) to his youngest daughter Jenny. Jenny is about to graduate as a Physical Education Teacher from Loughborough University, following in her father's footsteps. Alan thought this would be an exciting challenge. Alan trained at Loughborough University in the 1970s where he met Kathy while she was training to be a Primary School Teacher. Therefore due to the strong connection he believes that this would be an ideal challenge to launch the charity.

The challenge will involve dad verses daughter sporting activities. As Kathy’s lucky number was seven there will be seven activities. The challenge will start with dad and daughter taking part in the Robin Hood Nottingham Half Marathon on the 16th of September. Then Alan has picked three of the activities and Jenny the other three. The activities are as follows:

Alan’s:

  • Archery
  • Football
  • Bowls

Jenny’s:

  • Netball
  • Swimming
  • Badminton

The activities will take place every month from September. Alan and Jenny will find their teams and each member will pay five pounds to play. The money raised will go to the Trust. Points will be collected: 5 for a win, 3 for a draw and 1 for a loss. The overall winner will be revealed at the Ceilidh, which will take place on the 8th March 2008.
