The next step of the Three Peaks Challenge has been completed. The intrepid walkers reached the sumit of Scafell Pike on the evening of Saturday 19th June. The walk was a tough one and took about 7 hours to complete. Even so, everyone managed to reach the summit.

At Jenny's wedding last year a group of her friends decided to tackle the Three Peaks Challenge to raise funds for the KJ Trust.
This Easter, they completed the first of the three peaks. The intrepid group climbed to the summit of Snowdon on Easter Sunday.
It was hard to believe that our second Ceilidh for the Katherine Jacobs Trust was about to begin. The first one was held in March 2008. Our concerns that we might have sold too few tickets disappeared rapidly as the village hall in Quorn, Leicestershire began to fill up. The Trust's friends and supporters were soon drinking bucks fizz and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming.

Saturday nights saw the return of the KJ Trust Ceilidh to the Village Hall in Quorn.

Charlie Corcoran was once again caller for the evening, making order out of choas on the dancefloor. He even performed a jig for those attending (Charlie is also a well respected Morris Dancer).
Following The KJ Trust’s successful event nearly two years ago, we are holding another Ceilidh (Folk Dance) in March 2010.
Once again, Charlie Corcoran will be our caller for the dances and will, where necessary, join us on the dance floor to show us how it’s done. There will be a cold supper, a raffle with some unusual prizes, a chance to learn a number of easy dances and, most important of all, lots of fun!
The KJ Trust has received a cheque for £150, presented by PC Riches. The cheque represents profits from the tuckshop at Belgrave Police Station, from which officers from all parts of the police force make purchases.
PC Riches proposed that part of the profits should go to the Katherine Jacobs Trust. She knew Kathy for many years and respected the work that she did as a local primary school teacher.
The Katherine Jacobs Trust held a quiz night on the 7th March 2009 at Quorn Village Hall. Fifteen teams turned up on the night and took part in ten rounds of questions such as sport, science, film and music.
The winning team named themselves the Educators Plus One. The event was a great success, raising £537.43 for the trust. A big thank you to Jenny Winning, who read out all the questions and helped to organise the event, including the catering. We would also like to thank all those who came and supported the event.
As Alan's Father's day treat Dean, Pete and Alan went to support Sarah and Jenny who participated in the annual Race for Life at Loughborough University.
Jenny finshed third in a time of 22 minutes with Sarah's time of 27 minutes for the 5K. Congratulations to both of them, Kathy would of been proud of them both.
Sheena raised £119 for the Trust by providing a Charity Lunch for 25 work colleagues. The menu was carrot and corriander soup, sausage rolls, mushrooom vol-aux-vons, a mixture of filled rolls, quiche, chocolate cake, chocolate brownies and fresh fruit salad.
Many thanks to Suzanne for providing the lovely quiche and chocolate cake, and to everyone taking part in the event. Everyone enjoyed the meal especially the soup on a cold winter's day.
During the Summer term 2007 at Loughborough High School. pupils of the school raised £139.42 for the Trust.
Two puplis in 11JAL, who were pupils at Holywell Primary School were instrumental in choosing Kathy's Charity. They held a number of events such as holding a cake and donut sale and a cafe type event in the school hall. The funds will go towards information regarding raising awareness of Necrotizing fasciitis. A BIG thank you to all the pupils of 11JAL.
