Alan's 2012 Challenge

Alan has decided to try and raise £2012 in 2012. He will do this by running, cycling, canoeing, swimming and walking a total of 2012 kilometres throughout the year.

Ceilidh on 21st April 2012

The Trust is holding another Ceilidh on 21st April 2012 at Quorn Village Hall. Charlie Corcoran will be our caller again. As usual, a cold supper will be provided and there will also be a raffle. Tickets are £13 each and are available from the Trustees. You can also order tickets by e-mailing us at info@kjtrust.com.

 

The KJ Trust Pie Night on 13th January 2012

On 5th October 2012, the KJ Trust will be holding a pie night at Beaumanor Hall. Tickets will cost £12 and can be bought from the trustees (or email info@kjtrust.com).

Trust Awards £500 Grant to Leicestershire Primary School

The KJ Trust has awarded St Bartholomew's C of E Primary School a grant of £500. The School will use the money to help the teachers at the School develop their writing and poetry skills. Mrs Julie Gardner, the teacher who subnitted the the proposal, has organised for a poet to run a series of workshops for the staff at St. Bartholomew's.

2011 Quiz Night a Great Success

On Saturday 5th March The KJ Trust hosted another quiz night at Quorn Village Hall. 93 people bought tickets to the quiz, which lasted for more than four hours!

First Grants Awarded

The KJ Trust is pleased to announce that Cossington Primary School and Highgate Community Primary School are the first schools to be awarded grants from the Trust. Each school was awarded £400.

On Friday 24th September , Alan and Jenny went to Cossington Primary school to present the school with a cheque for £400 from the Trust.

Earlier this year, Robert Salt (Deputy Head of the school) successfully applied for a grant from the Trust to help pupils at his school increase levels of physical activity during breaks and lunchtime.

Trust Quiz 2011

The Trust will be running another quiz night on Saturday 5th of March 2011 at Quorn Village Hall. The quiz will be similar to the previous quiz night held in 2009. Teams can have a maximum of 6 people on them.

Tickets cost £7 per person, including food. There will not be a bar, so bring your own drinks! For information on how to buy a ticket, please email info@kjtrust.com.

Three Peaks Challenge Completed!

On the 7th of August, Holly, Sophie, Scott, Sara and Mark drove up to Scotland to attempt to climb the last mountain in the Three Peaks Challenge - Ben Nevis. The drive took Sophie and Scott a gruelling 14 hours!

Trek Up Scafell Pike

The next step of the Three Peaks Challenge has been completed. The intrepid walkers reached the summit of Scafell Pike on the evening of Saturday 19th June. The walk was a tough one and took about 7 hours to complete. Even so, everyone managed to reach the summit.
