Sheena raised £119 for the Trust by providing a Charity Lunch for 25 work colleagues. The menu was carrot and coriander soup, sausage rolls, mushrooom vol-au-vons, a mixture of filled rolls, quiche, chocolate cake, chocolate brownies and fresh fruit salad.
Many thanks to Suzanne for providing the lovely quiche and chocolate cake, and to everyone taking part in the event. Everyone enjoyed the meal especially the soup on a cold winter's day.
During the Summer term 2007 at Loughborough High School, pupils of the school raised £139.42 for the Trust.
Two pupils in 11JAL, who were pupils at Holywell Primary School were instrumental in choosing Kathy's Charity. They held a number of events such as holding a cake and doughnut sale and a cafe type event in the school hall. The funds will go towards information regarding raising awareness of Necrotizing fasciitis. A BIG thank you to all the pupils of 11JAL.
On Saturday 3rd November 2007 all the family were invited to the 'Garden of Remembrance' at Loughborough University. On a tranquil and warm autumnal day with the sun shining and the gardens looking splendid, the plaque for Kathy was dedicated by a short service conducted by the Loughborough University chaplains. Poems, readings and kind words were spoken by the chaplains. For example:
"Now is a time to remember those we have loved and see no more except in our memories and in our hearts. With the beauty of the garden around us and in the silence we will remember them."
Alan and Jenny successfully completed the Nottingham Robin Hood Half Marathon on Sunday 16th September 2007. This was the first of seven challenges to officially launch Kathy's Trust, aptly named "Dad versus Daughter" Challenge.

Jenny has just successfully finished the Race for Life at Loughborough Uni for Cancer Research. She finished the course in just over 20 mins. The race was supposed to be 5K, but due to safety reasons it had to be shortened to 4K. If you would like to sponsor Jenny retrospectively, go to the following link:
Kathy spent four years studying at Loughborough College of Education (Now Loughborough University) for her degree of certificate of education. I am pleased to inform you that a plaque in her memory has been placed in the Garden of Remembrance at the University. More information on the garden can be found here.
Alan, Sarah, Jenny and Pete all successfully completed the Great North Run. Alan achieved a time of 1 hour 50 minutes, Jenny in 2 hours 3 minutes, Sarah in 2 hours 20 minutes, and Pete in 2 hours 21 minutes.
Alan, Sarah, Jenny and Pete (Sarah’s Boyfriend) will be taking part in the Great North Run this weekend (Sunday 1st October) to raise money for the trust. The half marathon starts in Newcastle and ends in Sunderland, covering a total distance of 13.1 miles!

Holywell Primary school has dedicated a garden to Kathy. Staff, friends, parents and Barclays Bank donated money to create the garden.
Two hot weekends (and evenings after school!) were spent by staff and Barclays Bank digging and planting the garden.
We all went along to the opening of the garden on the 30th June, the same day as the summer fete.
