TRUST TO RESEARCH FLESH-EATING BUG

The family of a much-loved teacher who died from a rare flesh-eating bug hopes to raise funds for research into the deadly disease.
They hope money raised from the Katherine Jacobs Trust will help find a cure for the condition.
Mrs Jacobs died within days of contracting the condition following an operation at Glenfield Hospital in Leicester.
A CARING DONATION
A SPORTING Loughborough woman was inspired to raise money for a trust set up by the family of Holywell Primary School teacher Kathy Jacobs who died from necrotising faciiatis (NF) – more commonly known as the flesh eating bug.
Brenda Spurr is president of the Granby Outdoor Bowls Club and for her charity president’s day she chose to donate the money raised to the KJ Trust.
The money raised on the day amounted to £110 which she will present to Kathy’s husband Alan.

A family who lost a wife and mum are setting up a special trust to raise awareness of the flesh eating bug that took the life of Holywell Primary School teacher Kathy Jacobs.
Husband Alan Jacobs, together with his daughters Jenny, Sarah and son Martin, is fighting for recognition that more funding needs to be injected into research into the disease Necrotising Fasciitis (NF).

A giant mural of every child’s face at Holywell Primary School has been dedicated to the memory of teacher Kathy Jacobs who died earlier this year.
Under the guidance of two talented mums Carolyn Kay and Carol Beasley 409 pupils of the Loughborough school painted their faces - initially as part of a project to celebrate the school’s art focus week.
