Ceilidh March 2010

Following The KJ Trust’s successful event nearly two years ago, we are holding another Ceilidh (Folk Dance) in March 2010.

Once again, Charlie Corcoran will be our caller for the dances and will, where necessary, join us on the dance floor to show us how it’s done. There will be a cold supper, a raffle with some unusual prizes, a chance to learn a number of easy dances and, most important of all, lots of fun!

Donation from Belgrave Police Station

The KJ Trust has received a cheque for £150, presented by PC Riches. The cheque represents profits from the tuckshop at Belgrave Police Station, from which officers from all parts of the police force make purchases.

Quiz Night

The Katherine Jacobs Trust held a quiz night on the 7th March 2009 at Quorn Village Hall. Fifteen teams turned up on the night and took part in ten rounds of questions such as sport, science, film and music.

The winning team named themselves the Educators Plus One. The event was a great success, raising £537.43 for the trust. A big thank you to Jenny Winning, who read out all the questions and helped to organise the event, including the catering. We would also like to thank all those who came and supported the event.

Race for Life Loughborough June 2008

As my Father's day treat Dean, Pete and myself went to support Sarah and Jenny who participated in the annual Race for Life at Loughborough University. Jenny finshed third in a time of 22 minutes with Sarah's time of 27 minutes for the 5K. Congratulations to both of them, Kathy would of been proud of them.

Lunch in aid of Katherine Jacobs Trust (18-02-08)

Sheena raised £119 for the Trust by providing a Charity Lunch for 25 work colleagues. The menu was carrot and corriander soup, sausage rolls, mushrooom vol-aux-vons, a mixture of filled rolls, quiche, chocolate cake, chocolate brownies and fresh fruit salad. Many thanks to Suzanne for providing the lovely quiche and chocolate cake, and to everyone taking part in the event. Everyone enjoyed the meal especially the soup on a cold winter's day.

Jenny Finishes Race for Life

Jenny crossing the finishing line.

Jenny has just successfully finished the Race for Life at Loughborough Uni for Cancer Research. She finished the course in just over 20 mins. The race was supposed to be 5K, but due to safety reasons it had to be shortened to 4K. If you would like to sponsor Jenny retrospectively, go to the following link:
